Active mechanics to lead job briefings and on-site education

Selected students to complete internships at Seoul office during school breaks

Jejuair is stepping up efforts to cultivate local talent in aviation maintenance, bringing working mechanics into the classroom and opening its own facilities to students for hands-on training.

The airline signed a memorandum of understanding Tuesday with the Gangwon Provincial Office of Education, Taebaek city and Korea Aviation High School at the school's campus in Taebaek, Gangwon Province. The ceremony was attended by Gangwon Provincial Education Superintendent Kang Sam-young, Taebaek Mayor Lee Sang-ho, Jejuair Maintenance Division Head Park Seok-ryong and Korea Aviation High School Principal Gil Dong-wook.

Under the agreement, Jejuair will advise on the school's aviation maintenance curriculum and programs and provide on-site education and practical training. The airline will also pursue industry-academia cooperation and share relevant information with the school and local government.

Korea Aviation High School converted into a specialized aviation maintenance school to address declining student enrollment and youth employment challenges in the region. Jejuair said it will focus on bridging classroom learning with real-world industry experience so students can gain exposure to actual aviation work before they graduate.

Following the signing ceremony, active Jejuair mechanics held a job briefing for students, explaining how specialized roles — including electrical, electronics and quality assurance work — are carried out on the job and sharing their own career experiences.

The airline also plans to select a group of current students for internships and training at its Seoul office during school breaks, giving them the opportunity to connect what they have learned in the classroom with real maintenance operations.

"We plan to support local talent so they can grow into key figures in the aviation industry," a Jejuair official said. "We will fulfill our corporate social responsibility and pursue sustainable management through practical programs and education."
