Event runs Wednesday through Sunday
Collaborative collection to be unveiled on-site
Web3 IP brand Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) announced Tuesday it is partnering with Korean artist Stonrock to open a pop-up in Seoul's Seongsu-dong.
The pop-up will run for five days from Wednesday through Sunday. During the same period, BAYC plans to unveil a collection featuring Stonrock as part of its artist collaboration project, Anchor Drop.
Stonrock is an artist who reinterprets everyday objects and imagery through a personal lens, working with materials such as iron, plastic, wood and cement. The recurring "smile" motif in his work reflects his commitment to maintaining a positive outlook regardless of circumstance.
The collaborative collection includes rugby shirts, oversized T-shirts, a racing cap and a club flag. A payment-enabled app called "Ape Seoul" will also be introduced at the venue.
"BAYC started online, but it continues to grow into a brand where people meet in real life and build culture together," said Michael Figge, CEO of Yuga Labs. "The Seoul pop-up is an attempt to take BAYC a step further by reflecting the perspectives of Korean artists and the community, and starting with this project, we will continue to expand collaboration with Korean artists, creators, brands and communities."
Meanwhile, according to CoinGecko, BAYC's market capitalization stood at 62,488 ETH on Tuesday.
