Nowon-gu District Mayor Seo Jun-o attended a special invitation event for people with disabilities Monday morning at Jump, the district's municipal indoor adventure theme park.
The event was organized ahead of the park's official opening to give students with developmental disabilities a chance to experience its range of leisure and activity facilities firsthand.
About 300 participants, including students from Seoul Dongcheon School and their accompanying staff, took part in the event and tried out the various adventure attractions throughout the facility.
Students were directed to different zones based on their age and the difficulty level of each activity. In the morning, kindergartners and lower elementary school students explored the Kids Zone, while upper elementary, middle and high school students used the Jump Zone — where they had access to most attractions, with the exception of the kart rides and Clip 'n Climb, in consideration of safety.
Jump is an indoor adventure theme park designed for visitors of all ages. Since a preview opening in June, the facility has been operating in a trial phase while undergoing improvements in preparation for its official launch.
District Mayor Seo toured the facility to observe students as they took part in activities and reviewed safety management procedures with facility operators. He paid particular attention to the flow of movement through the park and how it was being run, to ensure students with disabilities could use the facility comfortably and safely.
"It is especially meaningful to see the students enjoying the new facility with such enthusiasm," Seo said. "We will continue to expand cultural and leisure opportunities so that people with and without disabilities can enjoy new experiences together."
