Cuckoo window AC up to 48% off list price; dehumidifiers, fans cut 40-60%
Paseco extends window AC discounts through September; Evezary offers up to 50% off summer bedding in 'Summer Final' sale
Winter appliances hit clearance in February — compare actual sale prices before buying
Rather than buying a fan or air conditioner in the heat of summer, shoppers may find better deals at the turn of autumn. The reverse holds for electric heating mats and space heaters — the end of winter in February can be a better time to buy than during a cold snap. As seasons change, appliance and bedding makers begin pushing out next season's products, often attaching discounts to outgoing merchandise.
According to industry sources, Cuckoo's official online store is selling its Inspure Premium Dual Inverter window air conditioner at 470,000 won ($346) — roughly half its list price of 890,000 won ($654). The 16-liter Inspure dehumidifier has been cut 54 percent, from 490,000 won to 230,000 won, and a BLDC circulator fan is half off at 60,000 won, down from 120,000 won. An air circulator model has been discounted 64 percent, from 229,000 won to 83,000 won.
Paseco, a leading maker of window air conditioners, is extending its summer product promotions through the end of September. Its Dual Inverter 2 PWA-3301BE2 window unit, released this year, has been reduced from 790,000 won to 690,000 won on the company's official store. An additional 5 percent discount applies through the end of this month for purchases made with a Naver Pay card. Among refurbished 2026-model units, the PWA-3300WG is priced at 519,000 won, down from 749,000 won, and the PWA-3500PB at 619,000 won, down from 899,000 won.
The seasonal discount trend extends to bedding as well. Evezary held a "Summer Final" sale on its official online store last month, offering more than 120 summer bedding items — including products made from ramie, bamboo and hanji, as well as cooling-touch bedding — at up to 50 percent off. The company described it as "the last benefit of the season." For shoppers looking to buy summer goods at a lower price, the tail end of summer has become another window of opportunity.
The same pattern repeats at the tail end of winter, in January and February. Cuckoo ran a "Winter Appliance Clearance" event at Cuckoo stores nationwide through Feb. 28 this year, covering heating products such as DC carbon electric heating mats and highlight electric heaters. On Sundays in particular, select floor display items and discontinued products were discounted by up to 80 percent. Cuckoo described it as "a special sale to wrap up the winter season."
Online retailers have followed a similar pattern. Coupang Inc. ran a campaign explicitly branded "Winter Appliance Season-Off" from Jan. 19 through March 1 this year. Airmade also held a humidifier "season-off" in February, discounting home appliances by up to 56 percent. The period after peak demand for heating and humidification — when companies are clearing inventory and transitioning to spring products — has become a natural trigger for promotional events.
Rental companies are offering half-price subscription rates. Coway ran a summer appliance promotion in August, giving new wall-mounted air conditioner rental customers a 50 percent discount on monthly fees for up to 18 months. At its "2026 Coway Festa" held in March, the company applied up to 15 months of half-price rental fees to products including water purifiers, beds and massage chairs. Beyond seasonal discounts, companies are also adjusting terms during periods of concentrated demand such as moving and move-in season.
SK Magic Mall, operated by SK Intellix, is running a subscription fee discount event through Sept. 30. Some products are offered at half the rental fee for either six or 18 months, depending on the minimum usage period. Kyowon Wells also ran a September promotion and recently launched a trade-in campaign offering up to six months of free rental fees on select products, including the IceOne model, for customers who return existing water purifiers and sign up for a new rental.
For shoppers who do not need to wait until the following year, buying a season late can be a practical way to get the same product at a lower price. The strategy points to fans, air conditioners, dehumidifiers and cooling bedding in September, and electric heating mats, heaters and humidifiers in February or March.
