The Daegu City Council will accept public tips for 30 days through Oct. 20 ahead of its annual administrative audit.
The tip submission window, which runs from Oct. 7 to Oct. 20 alongside the audit itself, was set up to strengthen the review process and ensure residents' voices are reflected in city administration, the council said Saturday.
Eligible submissions include reports of unlawful or improper conduct in city and education administration, suggestions for improving major policies and projects, cases of budget waste, and complaints about daily life inconveniences.
Excluded from consideration are matters the National Assembly has designated for its own audit, cases involving invasions of personal privacy or those under trial or investigation, content that disparages the council speaker or lawmakers, and anonymous tips.
Tips can be submitted through the Daegu City Council's website, by phone, by mail, or in person.
Submitters' personal information will be kept confidential. Tips received will be used as reference material during the audit, and submitters will be notified of the outcome after the audit concludes.
"We hope many citizens will take an active interest and participate so that the council can faithfully fulfill its oversight and scrutiny role and conduct a thorough audit," Daegu City Council Speaker Lim In-hwan said.
