Korail Tourism Development and Korail Networks merge to combine travel products and station parking services, offering customers a 30% parking discount at 158 stations nationwide starting late October
The merger of two Korail subsidiaries will bring travel products and railway station infrastructure under one roof, with a new parking discount introduced to mark the occasion.
Korail Networks and Korail Tourism Development said the integration will link train travel products with station parking services. Travelers who purchase train travel products through the online store of the tentatively named Korail Tourism Networks will receive a 30% discount on station parking fees.
The benefit was designed to combine the two companies' business areas — Korail Tourism Development's train travel products and Korail Networks' station parking operations — and to expand customer-facing services following the merger.
The discount applies to customers who book or purchase train travel products through the Korail Tourism Networks travel store. Those customers will receive 30% off parking fees at station lots operated by Korail Networks.
The parking discount will take effect in late October and will apply to 158 railway station parking lots across the country.
The benefit is intended to ease the parking burden for customers who drive to stations to use train travel products, connecting the travel experience with station parking into a single, seamless journey.
Building on the parking discount, Korail Tourism Networks plans to leverage the combined business assets and customer touchpoints of both companies to develop a wider range of services — spanning travel products and station amenities — that customers can tangibly benefit from.
An official from the Korail Tourism Networks integration task force said the companies had prepared the benefit "so that customers can enjoy greater convenience from the very start of their journey by linking train travel with station services." The official added that the company would "continue expanding the conveniences and benefits customers can feel — from trip planning through transit and tourism — by effectively combining the business capabilities of both companies."
Meanwhile, further details on train travel products and the station parking discount are available through the company's website and customer service center.
