A one-minute anti-corruption OX quiz via QR code makes the Anti-Graft Act easy to understand
Residents can praise courteous civil servants, report illicit solicitations and flag corruption through new two-way channels
Seoul's Yongsan-gu sent its "2026 District Mayor's Integrity Letter" on Thursday to residents who had dealt with 23 district offices covering four corruption-prone areas — contracts, subsidies, taxation and licensing — ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
The letter was prepared to mark Chuseok, a period considered particularly vulnerable to corruption, by pledging fair and transparent administration and promoting a culture of integrity built through dialogue with residents.
Particularly this year, the district revamped the previously one-way integrity letter into an interactive format using QR codes. Residents who scan the code can take a "Chuseok One-Minute Integrity OX Quiz" designed to help them understand the Anti-Graft Act in a simple and approachable way, and to raise awareness of potentially unlawful acts such as giving inappropriate holiday gifts related to official duties.
The letter opens with the greeting "A Chuseok embraced with an honest heart" and sets out three integrity pledges from District Mayor Kim Kyung-dae: to handle matters fairly, to explain them in plain language, and to listen to residents' voices.
The reverse side carries the message "The more we work together, the more integrity Yongsan has," along with three QR codes linking to: praising courteous civil servants, taking the Chuseok one-minute integrity OX quiz, and reporting illicit solicitations and corruption. The codes also direct residents to relevant legislation including the Anti-Graft Act, creating a two-way communication channel through which the district can receive compliments and reports from residents.
"Integrity begins not with grand slogans but in each and every interaction with residents," District Mayor Kim Kyung-dae said. "We will build a Yongsan that earns trust through fair handling, plain explanations and an administration that listens to the voices of its people." He added that the warm feeling residents wish to convey this Chuseok is more than enough, and that the district will repay that sentiment with honest and responsible governance.
Yongsan-gu said it plans to continue strengthening communication with residents and to pursue anti-corruption and integrity initiatives that people can feel the impact of firsthand.
