900 bags of rice delivered to vulnerable households in Seoul ahead of holiday
Global accounting and consulting firm EY Han Young announced Tuesday it had donated 900 bags of 10-kilogram rice to support vulnerable residents in Seoul ahead of the chuseok holiday.
The rice was distributed to low-income households and food banks and markets in Seoul through the Korea Social Welfare Council's National Food Bank network. EY Han Young began its chuseok rice donation drive in 2024, and this year marks the third consecutive year of the initiative. Cumulatively, the firm has donated more than 3,000 bags of 10-kilogram rice worth about 120 million won ($86,700) to local communities.
The donation was organized through EY Han Young's in-house corporate social responsibility network. Founded in 2006 through voluntary employee participation, the network marked its 20th anniversary this year with a formal relaunch as an incorporated nonprofit association. The organization plans to expand its giving activities in a more systematic and sustainable way following the transition, with a focus on creating social value and tangible change.
"EY Han Young will continue to support future generations and vulnerable communities, drive positive change in society, and spread the value of growing together with local communities," said Park Yong-geun, CEO of EY Han Young.
Meanwhile, EY Han Young posted total sales of 764.8 billion won and operating profit of 13.9 billion won for fiscal year 2024, which ran from July 2024 to June 2025, continuing its growth trajectory.
