Actor Park Shin-hye gave birth to her second child, a daughter, on Tuesday. The arrival comes four years after she and her husband, actor Choi Tae-joon, welcomed their first child, a son, in 2022 — the couple now have one son and one daughter.

Salt Entertainment, Park's agency, announced Tuesday that Park had given birth to a healthy baby girl, welcoming another new member into the family. "Both the mother and baby are in good health," the agency said, adding that Park is resting and recovering with the love and care of her family.

The agency also expressed gratitude to everyone who offered congratulations, and asked for warm blessings and support for the newborn.

News of Park's second pregnancy first broke on April 14. At the time, the agency confirmed she was expecting and said the birth was scheduled for autumn this year.

Park kept busy with acting projects after the birth of her first child. She returned to screens in January 2024 in the JTBC drama series "Doctor Slump," and that September starred in the SBS series "Judge from Hell," playing Kang Bit-na, a demon who inhabits the body of a judge.

Her next project after this birth has already been announced. Hong Seong-chang, CEO of Studio S, revealed at an SBS drama press briefing on June 1 that Park — then pregnant — would return next year in "Judge from Hell 2." The series marks the first of Park's blockbusters to be renewed for a second season, with Season 2 set to air in 2027.

Park and Choi are alumni of the same theater and film department at Chung-Ang University, with Choi a year behind Park. The couple went public with their relationship in 2018, then announced their marriage and pregnancy together in 2022, welcoming their first son that May.

Both actors began their careers as child performers. Park made her debut in 2003 in a music video for singer Lee Seung-hwan and gained wider recognition through the drama series "Stairway to Heaven," while Choi debuted in 2001 in the drama series "Piano." Choi most recently appeared in the KBS 2TV weekend drama series "Iron Family."
