President Lee Jae Myung spoke by phone with former President Moon Jae-in ahead of the chuseok holiday, exchanging views on key state affairs, Cheong Wa Dae confirmed Monday.

Lee and Moon shared greetings and well-wishes in the lead-up to chuseok, during which they also discussed current state affairs, Cheong Wa Dae said.

"The intent was to listen to various opinions in support of governance and national unity," Cheong Wa Dae added, noting it could not disclose the specific contents of the call.
