More than 720 scholarship recipients have participated since 2023

The Mirae Asset Park Hyun-joo Foundation held the 9th MEET-UP Project on Saturday for recipients of its overseas exchange scholarship, the foundation announced Monday.

The MEET-UP Project is a networking program that brings overseas exchange scholarship recipients together to share experiences, interests and career concerns. About 100 scholarship recipients attended the event.

The event opened with a lecture by Lee Sang-geon, head of the Mirae Asset Investment and Pension Center, who spoke on the theme "A youth asset class for expanding your life." Lee stressed that developing one's own standards for managing assets from a young age is essential.

Scholarship recipients then broke into small groups to discuss their exchange experiences, career concerns and interest in asset management. Lee Da-jeong, who spent the spring semester in Spain, said she has come to see asset management as a core skill for achieving stable independence and broadening life choices as she prepares to enter the workforce. "This program felt like an opportunity to learn the right foundations for long-term asset building, share thoughts about the future with fellow scholarship recipients, and lay the groundwork for taking charge of my own life," she said.

The MEET-UP Project launched in 2023 and is now in its ninth edition. More than 720 scholarship recipients have taken part to date.

A foundation official said the hope is that the lecture will give scholarship recipients a chance to view their assets and futures through their own lens, adding that the foundation plans to continue creating opportunities for scholarship recipients to learn, connect and grow together.

The Mirae Asset Park Hyun-joo Foundation was established in March 2000 under the slogan "Mirae Asset will be a beacon of hope for young people." It has since carried out a range of social contribution projects, including overseas exchange scholarships, support for future generations and a giving culture initiative.
