Veteran singer Insooni is set to become a grandmother for the first time, after her only daughter, Park Se-in, announced she is expecting her first child — two years after her wedding.

Park shared the news Sunday on her social media, posting a video with the caption "get ready 2027, baby han is coming."

The video showed Park and her husband telling both families about the pregnancy.

Insooni, visibly surprised after reading a letter from her daughter and seeing an ultrasound photo, rushed over to embrace her. Park's father also beamed with joy, barely able to hide his disbelief. Park also shared a photo of herself and her husband holding the ultrasound image.

Park married in July 2024. Insooni wed Park Kyung-bae, a professor at Kyung Hee University's Graduate School of Physical Education, in 1994, and Park Se-in was born in 1996. The pregnancy means Insooni will become a grandmother 32 years after her own marriage.

Park Se-in graduated from Stanford University and went on to work at Microsoft. She became a familiar face to the public alongside her mother through appearances on tvN's "Munjejeok Namja," a variety show, in 2017 and SBS's "Babeun Meokgo Daninya" in 2019. In March, the family appeared together on TV Chosun's "Joseon's Romantics."

Born in 1957, Insooni made her debut in 1978 as a member of the group Huija Sisters and released hits including "Bamimyeon Bammada," "Chinguyo" and "Geowiui Kkum." In 2023, she joined Park Mi-kyung, Shin Hyo-bum and Lee Eun-mi in the project group Golden Girls.
