Boldest, a workwear brand under Kolon Industries' FnC division, will officially sponsor the uniforms for South Korea's national team at the 48th WorldSkills Competition, which opens in Shanghai on Tuesday.
The WorldSkills Competition is the world's premier skills contest, bringing together young skilled workers from around the globe to compete across a range of technical disciplines. The uniform set comprises four items: a jacket, a short-sleeve T-shirt, pants and a cap. The jacket is a single-layer garment, kept lightweight and easy to carry in consideration of Shanghai's hot climate.
The pants incorporate a high-density cooling fabric called Forpe for enhanced heat management, while high-wear areas use Cordura, a high-performance abrasion-resistant material, to boost durability. The inside of the cap features a Coolmax sweatband designed to absorb and dry perspiration quickly.
Throughout the uniform, design elements drawn from the four trigrams of the South Korean flag — geon, gon, gam and ri — have been reinterpreted in a modern aesthetic. 3M silver reflective prints and retroreflective detailing improve the visibility and safety of wearers in low-light conditions.
"We will support South Korea's national team athletes on the global stage so they can focus entirely on competition, even amid the local climate and the demanding conditions of high-intensity events," said Yang Seon-mi, director at Boldest.
