More than 300 employees took part in tailored community service activities Saturday

Busan Bank said Monday that more than 300 employees fanned out across 16 locations in Busan on Saturday — including volunteer centers, community welfare centers and traditional markets — to mark chuseok with a series of neighborhood service activities.

In Suyeong-gu, Haeundae-gu, Busanjin-gu and Yeongdo-gu, the bank's volunteer corps worked alongside district volunteer centers to deliver holiday gift packages and spend time as companions for elderly residents living alone. Employees in Gangseo-gu, Dong-gu, Geumjeong-gu and Saha-gu assembled and handed out holiday snack kits, while those in Jung-gu made jigsaw puzzle kits as holiday gifts for seniors.

At Yongho Community Welfare Center in Nam-gu and Deokcheon Community Welfare Center in Buk-gu, employees prepared holiday food and served meals to elderly residents in the neighborhood. Volunteers also carried out cleanup drives at five traditional markets — Gamjeon Market in Sasang-gu, Geoje Market in Yeonje-gu, Dongnae Market in Dongnae-gu, Gijang Market in Gijang-gun and Chungmu-dong Dawn Market in Seo-gu — to help shoppers enjoy a more pleasant holiday shopping experience and support local commerce.

"We organized this event so that neighbors across the city could share warm feelings ahead of chuseok and enjoy a more plentiful holiday," a Busan Bank official said. "The BNK Busan Bank community volunteer corps continues to carry out social contribution activities wherever people in the region need support."
