Hanmi Semiconductor announced Monday that it has released a video reimagining the late artist Kim Jung-gi's work through AI technology to depict the future of industry in 2040.

The video is titled "The late Kim Jung-gi, drawing Hanmi Semiconductor's future in 2040 from 2020." The original work was a large-scale canvas piece commissioned from Kim in 2020, when the company marked its 40th anniversary.

Kim captured Hanmi Semiconductor's founding in 1980, its state in 2020 and a vision of its future through live drawing. The company then used AI technology to reconstruct the work into a video depicting 2040, featuring humanoid robots, autonomous driving mobility, aerospace and smart cities.

The company said the video conveys the message that its semiconductor equipment — including the TC bonder for HBM production and the advanced packaging equipment Micro Saw & Vision Placement (MSVP) — contributes to the advancement of the AI industry. Hanmi Semiconductor has recently been expanding its product lineup with 2.5D packaging equipment and EMI shielding equipment.

"We extended the future that artist Kim Jung-gi imagined in 2020 into a vision of 2040 using AI technology in 2026," a company official said.
