BTS and Blackpink are among the K-pop acts that received additional nominations for the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards.
According to the MTV VMA official website, BTS, Blackpink, Cortez and Katseye were named nominees in the newly announced Best Group category Friday (local time).
In the Song of Summer category, Katseye's "Hootie Frutti" and "Dracula" — a collaboration between Blackpink's Jennie and Australian singer Tame Impala — each received nominations.
BTS is now nominated in three categories at the ceremony, adding Best Group to existing nods for Song of the Year and Best K-pop. The group won the Best Group award for four consecutive years from 2019 to 2022.
Cortez and Katseye are also nominated in three categories each.
The MTV VMAs will be held Sept. 27 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
At last year's 2025 VMAs, Blackpink's Rosé made history as the first K-pop artist to win Song of the Year, taking the award for "APT.," her collaboration with Bruno Mars. Blackpink also won Best Group at the same ceremony.
