Customer perks rolled out before company integration

Mobile coupons offered to October train travelers

Rail network links autumn festivals nationwide

Korail Tourism Development announced Thursday that it has launched a customer appreciation campaign ahead of its planned merger with Korail Networks and the broader high-speed rail consolidation. The promotion offers a range of benefits to customers who book fall train travel products departing in October.

The campaign centers on select October departure packages. Customers who purchase eligible products will receive a mobile coffee coupon. Full details and a list of qualifying products are available on the campaign page within the Korail Tourism Development travel portal.

Throughout October, the company will support rail travel to autumn festivals and tourist destinations across the country. These include the Andong International Mask Dance Festival; the Yeongcheon joint festival series — encompassing a cultural arts festival, a traditional medicine festival, a wine festa and a starlit Hanwoo barbecue festival; the Geumsan World Ginseng Festival; the Gimje Horizon Festival; the Buyeo Baekje Cultural Festival; the Jeongseon Mindungsan Silver Pampas Grass Festival; and the Yeongwol Donggang Red Buckwheat Flower Festival. The company will also operate themed rail tour products, including a Daejeon bread festival package and a DMZ Peace Connection train.

"Ahead of the high-speed rail integration and the launch of the consolidated subsidiary, we organized this event to express our gratitude to customers who have used Korail Tourism Development's train travel services and to make autumn rail travel more enjoyable," Chief Executive Officer Song Gwang-seok said. "We will continue to expand customer benefits through a wider range of train travel products and services that are even more convenient to use."

Further details about the promotion are available through the Korail Tourism Development travel portal or its customer service center.

Meanwhile, the government is moving to consolidate five subsidiaries of Korea Railroad Corporation (Korail) into three entities. Korail Tourism Development will merge with Korail Networks, and once the integration is completed after the end of this month, customer service functions — covering station operations, onboard services and tourism — will be unified, strengthening the continuity of rail passenger services.
