Four venues along Cheonho Rodeo Street and the Seoul Youth Center Gangdong will host the event Saturday, featuring policy consultations, cultural performances, hands-on activities and exhibitions tailored for young residents.
Gangdong-gu in Seoul will hold the 2026 Gangdong Youth Festival along Cheonho Rodeo Street on Saturday, marking Youth Day.
The festival runs from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. across four venues centered on the Seoul Youth Center Gangdong and the surrounding Cheonho Rodeo Street area. Organizers have prepared a wide range of programs — from youth policy consultations and cultural performances to hands-on activities and exhibitions — designed to give young residents a space to connect and enjoy themselves.
The first segment, running from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., will be anchored at the Seoul Youth Center Gangdong in a designated "Youth Dopamine Zone." Programs include comprehensive youth policy consultations, club activity booths, special lectures on residential and financial topics, and a counseling corner for personal concerns and career questions.
The second segment kicks off at 5 p.m. and spreads across three separate venues along Cheonho Rodeo Street, each with its own theme.
A "Youth Healing Zone" set up in the plaza in front of Nabi Shopping Mall in Cheonho-dong will feature cultural performances including a youth vocal ensemble, B-boy crews, a live band and a DJ party. A ceremony at 6 p.m. will honor young residents who have actively contributed to district affairs, with certificates of appreciation presented to outstanding participants.
At Bitssal Culture Park in Gangdong-gu, a "Youth Recharge Zone" will showcase a "Youth Arcade" run by members of the Gangdong Youth Network. The zone will offer participatory activities open to all, including a punch-strength game, a wishing tree and a cotton-candy bicycle.
The underground cultural gallery at Cheonho Underpass will host a "Youth Salon Zone," displaying works by young artists who took part in the "Room Escape & Step-Up Project," with guided commentary on the pieces. Daily drop-in workshops — including a singing bowl session and a cocktail-making class — will also be available, along with a free-reading corner stocked with comic books and a rest area.
Gangdong-gu District Mayor Lee Su-hee said she hopes the festival, prepared in honor of Youth Day, will serve as a meaningful occasion for young people to connect and explore their potential. "I look forward to this event bringing the energy and culture of youth to Cheonho Rodeo Street, and to it becoming a catalyst for the community and its young residents to grow together," she said.
