Cheongdo-gun in North Gyeongsang Province announced Wednesday it will launch the "2026 Cheongdo-gun Accommodation Sale Festa" to boost local tourism and attract overnight visitors during the autumn travel season.

The program is designed to ease the financial burden on travelers by offering direct discounts to guests staying at local accommodations, while encouraging greater use of lodging businesses in the area.

This year's event is expected to draw particular interest, as the discount period coincides with the Chuseok holiday, the National Foundation Day holiday, and Cheongdo's signature autumn events — the Cheongdo Bansi Festival and the Cheongdo World Comedy Art Festival, running Oct. 16 to 18.

Discount coupons will be available through the Yeogieoddae app from Tuesday through Oct. 5, offering 20,000 won ($15) off accommodations in Cheongdo-gun when users book and pay through the platform.

"We hope visitors will come to Cheongdo to savor the sweet local persimmons, soak in the autumn atmosphere, and enjoy the rich array of sights and food — all while taking advantage of the accommodation discounts," Cheongdo-gun Mayor Park Gwon-hyeon said.
