Kim Yong-jin, president of Gyeonggi Housing & Urban Development Corp. (GH), said Tuesday that "the role of field workers is crucial to delivering the housing information people need in a timely manner."
The Gyeonggi Province Residential Welfare Center held a hands-on housing education session at its Suwon headquarters Tuesday, training about 30 workers from youth independence support programs and children's group homes.
The session was designed to go beyond simply providing housing information directly to young people. Its broader aim was to strengthen the housing counseling capabilities of frontline support workers and build a cross-agency housing information network.
The training was divided into two parts. The first covered housing welfare information essential for youth aging out of the care system, including types of public rental housing, application procedures and how to check recruitment notices.
The second part focused on real-world cases, examining key precautions at each stage of signing a lease, ways to protect jeonse deposits and how to respond in the early stages of a lease dispute.
