Snoopy aircraft puzzle among new logo products added to in-flight shop

Eastar Jet announced Tuesday it is overhauling its in-flight services, adding five new menu items and expanding the product lineup of its paid in-flight retail service.

The new pre-order in-flight meals are jeyuk (spicy pork) rice bowls, fried chicken, chicken breast poke bowls and bulgogi ciabatta sandwiches. The lineup spans hansik options, chicken dishes popular with both Korean and foreign customers, and lighter fare such as poke bowls and ciabatta for passengers who prefer a smaller meal.

A jajangbap (rice with black bean sauce) dish has also been added as a walk-up purchase requiring no pre-order. It is served in a natural pulp container that biodegrades within 90 days, reducing the environmental burden from disposal.

Pre-order meals can be purchased up to 72 hours before departure through the Eastar Jet website, while jajangbap is available for on-board purchase on select international routes.

Alongside the new food options, Eastar Jet is expanding the product range of its in-flight retail service. A 3D aircraft puzzle has been added to the airline's Eastar Jet x Peanuts collaboration "Snoopy goods" line, which has proven popular on board. The collaboration now covers nine products in total, including ballpoint pens and keyrings.

"We have put together a fresh pre-order menu centered on familiar, well-liked dishes so that customers at home and abroad can choose from a wider variety of in-flight meals to suit their tastes," an Eastar Jet official said. "We will continue to roll out diverse in-flight products and services that reflect customer preferences and convenience."

Meanwhile, Eastar Jet has been rolling out a range of passenger-convenience improvements this month, including a baggage-inspection notification service. The service sends a KakaoTalk message to passengers when a checked bag triggers a security check for suspected restricted items, directing them to visit the inspection area. It operates on domestic routes at Gimpo, Jeju, Cheongju, Gimhae and Daegu airports.
