KBS1TV's "Jeonkuk Noraejang," a long-running national singing competition, will hold an open recording at Boramae Park on Oct. 7, with guest singers including Jin Sung and Park Seo-jin
Dongjak-gu will hold an open recording of its episode of KBS "Jeonkuk Noraejang," a long-running national singing competition, at the multipurpose sports field in Boramae Park (33 Yeouidae bang-ro 20-gil) on Oct. 7 at 3 p.m.
"Jeonkuk Noraejang" is one of South Korea's longest-running television programs, giving residents from across the country a stage to show off their singing and performing talents. About 15 teams selected through preliminary auditions will compete in the Dongjak-gu episode.
Guest singers — including Jin Sung, Park Seo-jin, Park Hye-sin, Miss Kim and Yu Min — will perform at the main event, adding to the excitement on the day.
Preliminary auditions will be held ahead of the main recording on Oct. 5 at 1 p.m. in the grand auditorium on the fourth floor of the Dongjak-gu District Office. The auditions will proceed in two rounds — the first unaccompanied, the second with noraebang backing tracks — with a panel of judges selecting the teams that advance to the main event.
Applications open Wednesday and close Sept. 30, on a first-come, first-served basis, with a cap of 300 teams. Residents of Dongjak-gu, as well as business owners, workers and students based in the district, are eligible to apply; professional singers may not participate.
Interested residents can download an application form from the Dongjak-gu District Office's official blog, fill it out and submit it either in person at the nearest community center or the Culture Policy Division on the seventh floor of the district office, or by email. Inquiries can be directed to the Culture Policy Division.
The Dongjak-gu episode of "Jeonkuk Noraejang" is scheduled to air nationwide on KBS1TV sometime in November.
"Jeonkuk Noraejang is a program where residents themselves take center stage — laughing and enjoying the moment together," Dongjak-gu District Mayor Ryu Sam-young said. "I hope this becomes an occasion for Dongjak-gu to show off its energy and spirit, and for all residents to create cherished memories."
