Yeungnam University held its 2026 fall job fair from Tuesday through Friday to help students secure employment.

About 80 companies and institutions took part, including large conglomerates, financial institutions, public institutions and strong mid-sized regional firms, offering recruitment consultations and information on companies and job roles.

The fair also featured a range of programs to support job seekers, including on-site internship matching, on-the-spot hiring interviews and mentoring sessions with alumni already in the workforce.

Company-specific recruitment briefings were held at the Isiwon Global Convention Hall and Grand Hall of Yeungnam University's Cheonma Arts Center, where human resources managers and field staff explained hiring procedures, schedules, eligibility requirements and job descriptions.

Programs offering real hiring opportunities on the spot were also available. On-site hiring interviews involving more than 10 companies were held Tuesday and Thursday.

A field internship matching fair ran Wednesday and Thursday, with local companies and institutions providing information on internship opportunities and helping students find placements suited to their majors and skill sets.

The university's Job Plus Center counseling booth, the Gyeongsan City Employment Support Center and other employment-related agencies also participated, offering consultations on job support programs and youth employment policy.

On the final day of the fair, Yeungnam University's signature alumni mentoring program, known as "Chwieop Sunbae Amukji" (tacit knowledge from career sunbae), was held along Cheonma-ro near the main gate.

The program is popular among job-seeking students because it gives them a chance to meet alumni working at companies they are interested in and gather firsthand information on each company's hiring characteristics, required competencies, resume and interview tips, and day-to-day work after joining.

This year's event drew more than 70 alumni currently employed at affiliates of major conglomerates such as Samsung, LG Group and Hyundai Motor Company, leading domestic public institutions and foreign-invested companies.

Lee Gyeong-tak, dean of student success and director of the Job Plus Center at Yeungnam University, said he hoped the fair would help students gain broad exposure to recruitment information from a wide range of companies and institutions, develop a concrete understanding of the qualities and competencies employers seek, and map out career paths and job-search strategies suited to their individual strengths.
