Brand showcases luxury high-performance, extreme off-road visions

Genesis on Monday unveiled the first public-road footage of its high-performance Magma GT concept and extreme off-road X Scorpio concept in motion.

The automaker showcased both vehicles on public roads at the Tutto Bene Hill Climb, an automotive event held Wednesday (local time) near Monte Mottarone and Lake Maggiore in Italy's Piedmont region.

The Tutto Bene Hill Climb is a car culture event co-organized by Milan-based design studio Borromeo de Silva and Los Angeles-based creative agency Race Service. It operates on an invitation-only basis, with vehicles and participants selected by the organizers. First held in 2024, the second edition last year drew about 80 vehicles.

The event blends automotive culture with design and lifestyle, centering on a driving program along a roughly 9-kilometer mountain road with 51 corners. Unlike a conventional hill climb competition, the focus is not on times or rankings but on appreciating the performance and design of participating vehicles and sharing the joy of driving.

Genesis featured the Magma GT concept and the X Scorpio concept in this year's driving program. The Magma GT concept was first unveiled at the "Magma World Premiere" at the Paul Ricard circuit in Le Castellet, France, in November last year. Designed as a mid-engine luxury grand tourer, it embodies Genesis's vision of "luxury high performance."

The X Scorpio concept made its debut in January in the Rub' al Khali desert in the UAE. The extreme off-road concept was developed drawing inspiration from the lifestyles of customers who enjoy off-road leisure.

Also notable at this year's event, Genesis Magma racing driver André Lotterer drove the X Scorpio concept himself. It marked the first time the X Scorpio had appeared in Europe. Genesis said the vehicle demonstrated how the brand's design philosophy of "Athletic Elegance" extends into the off-road realm.

"We showcased the Magma GT concept — a mid-engine luxury grand tourer — and the X Scorpio concept, an extreme off-road model, on public roads," Genesis said. "Through these two vehicles of contrasting character, we showed the broad spectrum of the high-performance vision the brand pursues."

Also on display alongside the two concept cars were the GMR-001 hypercar and the Box Buggy concept, through which Genesis outlined its technology development direction spanning motorsport to future mobility.
