The slogan distills the life values residents aspire to and the district's future vision into a pledge of action, and will serve as a core city brand tied to the administrative goal of 'Vibrant Change, Proud Gangdong'
Gangdong-gu in Seoul has finalized "The Life I Want, Wannabe Gangdong" as its new official slogan, encapsulating the core vision of the ninth elected-term administration.
The district will retain "Vibrant Change, Proud Gangdong" — the administrative goal set during the eighth elected term — as its foundational direction, while actively deploying the new slogan as a resident-friendly core city brand. Building on that foundation, Gangdong-gu plans to extend its ninth-term vision through the slogan, sustaining the district's continued growth and driving a greater leap forward.
The slogan reflects Gangdong-gu's commitment to realizing the life values residents seek across all areas — transportation, housing, employment and the environment — and to creating a city where everyone wants to live. It also embodies District Mayor Lee Su-hee's administrative vision of building a city where the roughly 500,000 residents of Gangdong can enjoy their daily lives and leisure with ease.
The district plans to push ahead with more substantive policies across each sector, building a city where residents can feel the change firsthand.
"The new slogan, 'The Life I Want, Wannabe Gangdong,' is both a blueprint for Gangdong's future and a promise to our residents in a nutshell," District Mayor Lee Su-hee said. "I will focus every administrative resource on making Gangdong a city people aspire to live in — one where each and every resident can enjoy the life they want."
