Discounts on samgyeopsal, pork neck and shoulder through Sept. 30
Large and mid-sized stores participating; schedules and discount rates vary by retailer
Domestic pork cuts — samgyeopsal, pork neck and shoulder — will go on sale at up to 50 percent off ahead of the Chuseok holiday. Samgyeopsal and pork neck will be available from 1,908 won, while shoulder cuts start at 1,090 won.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced Monday that a Chuseok domestic pork discount campaign will run through Sept. 30 at Hanaro Mart locations operated by agricultural and livestock cooperatives, as well as at large and mid-sized retailers.

Samgyeopsal: regular price 2,900–3,290 won / discounted price 1,908–2,680 won Pork neck: regular price 2,550–3,290 won / discounted price 1,908–2,680 won Pork shoulder: regular price 1,490–2,180 won / discounted price 1,090–1,500 won
Participating organizations include the Korea Swine Industry Association, NH Agri Business Holdings and the Korea Pork Producers Association. The three cuts — samgyeopsal, pork neck and shoulder — were selected for their high consumer demand. Discount rates and event schedules will vary by store and retailer.
Samgyeopsal will be discounted from the regular 2,900–3,290 won range to 1,908–2,680 won. Pork neck drops from 2,550–3,290 won to 1,908–2,680 won, and shoulder cuts fall from 1,490–2,180 won to 1,090–1,500 won.
"We prepared this discount event to ease the burden on consumers' grocery budgets and help make this Chuseok a joyful one," said Lee Jae-sik, director of livestock policy at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. "We hope everyone enjoys a plentiful Chuseok holiday with delicious domestic pork."
