Gunwi-gun in Daegu announced Sunday that it will recruit civilian jurors to review the county chief's campaign pledge implementation plan, with applications open Tuesday through Sept. 22.

The civilian jurors will directly examine the detailed action plans for pledges made by the ninth-term county chief and offer opinions on the direction and content of their implementation.

Residents aged 18 or older who are registered in Gunwi-gun may apply through the county's website. Jurors will be selected through a random automated phone lottery, with age, gender and regional representation taken into account.

Those selected will participate in three review sessions — on Oct. 22, Nov. 5 and Nov. 19 — to assess the pledge implementation plans, evaluate their direction and feasibility, and offer recommendations on areas requiring adjustment or revision.

"I will repay the residents' trust with faithful fulfillment of my promises for the uninterrupted development of Gunwi," County Chief Kim Jin-yeol said. "In the ninth term as well, I will actively reflect residents' voices in our pledges and work together with them to make Gunwi the economic hub of the Daegu-North Gyeongsang new airport zone."
