Nowon-gu District Mayor Seo Jun-o attended the opening of the 2026 Nowon Craft Beer Festival on Saturday afternoon, celebrating the launch of the two-day event.
Now in its fourth year, the festival runs through Sunday at Hwarangdae Railway Park, featuring more than 200 craft beer varieties from 34 breweries across the country. Local traditional markets and alley shopping districts have also set up food booths and food trucks, adding to the culinary offerings.
The festival grounds are divided into themed zones — a Beer Plaza, a Can Beer Plaza, an Eco Plaza and a Music Plaza — giving visitors a range of ways to enjoy the event. Options include a stage area where guests can watch live performances while drinking, a camping-style relaxation space, a market run by local small businesses and youth vendors, and a beer docent program for those looking to deepen their knowledge of craft brewing.
District Mayor Seo toured the festival grounds, stopping by participating brewery and food booths and speaking with residents to hear their firsthand impressions. He also visited booths run by local breweries and small business owners, offering words of encouragement and reflecting on the festival's role in supporting the local community.
Following the opening ceremony, performances by Casey and Mad Clown, along with sets by other musicians, kept the energy high. The second day on Sunday will continue with live performances, craft beer, food and hands-on activities.
"The Nowon Craft Beer Festival is becoming a celebration that transcends generations and neighborhoods," District Mayor Seo said. "I hope everyone comes out to Hwarangdae Railway Park this fall to make special memories with family, friends and loved ones."
