A cheeky comment from Samsung Electronics on a social media post featuring Blackpink's Rosé holding a new Apple iPhone has gone viral.

Rosé and Apple unveiled a photo on their official Instagram accounts Tuesday showing the singer holding the new iPhone 18 Pro. The caption read: "iPhone, new trick, watch this."

The post is part of a global collaboration campaign tied to Rosé's new single "New Trick," set for release Wednesday. The music video was reportedly shot using Apple's latest smartphone, the iPhone 18 Pro.

The post drew even more attention after Samsung Electronics weighed in with a surprise comment.

Samsung Electronics Canada's official Instagram account left a comment Friday reading, "If you needed a real phone you could have just asked us," and users quickly responded to the rival's wit.

Within a day, Samsung's comment had drawn more than 260,000 likes and around 2,400 replies.

The comment drew particular interest given that Rosé and Samsung Electronics share a history of collaboration.

In April 2019, Samsung Electronics named all four Blackpink members global ambassadors for its Galaxy A series at the "A Galaxy Event" held in Bangkok, Thailand.

The group took part in global promotional campaigns for the Galaxy A70 and A80, helping Samsung target younger consumers. It became one of the company's most prominent celebrity marketing efforts, leveraging Blackpink's global reach and influence.

Meanwhile, Apple CEO John Ternus unveiled the iPhone Duo and the iPhone 18 Pro series Thursday (local time) at Apple Park, the company's headquarters in Cupertino, California.

The iPhone Duo marks Apple's first departure from a flat, bar-style design. The screen measures 5.4 inches when folded and expands to 7.6 inches when open. When unfolded, the device supports multitasking, allowing different apps to run simultaneously on each half of the display.

The iPhone 18 Pro series features a variable aperture and adjustable shutter speed, with improved camera capabilities as its headline upgrade. The iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199, while the Pro Max starts at $1,299.
