Daegu Haany University has been recognized for its leadership in AI and digital skills education for working professionals.

The university received a plaque designating it a "2026 AI·D Leading University" at a training session for participants in the 2026 AI·Digital (AI·D) Intensive Program for Working Professionals, held Friday at Ferrum Hall in Ferrum Tower in Jung-gu, Seoul. The event was organized by the Ministry of Education and the National Institute for Lifelong Education.

The training session was organized to strengthen cooperation among universities participating in the AI·D intensive program for working professionals, share best practices and explore directions for the program's continued development.

Officials from the Ministry of Education and the National Institute for Lifelong Education, along with representatives from universities nationwide running AI·D intensive programs, attended the event. Daegu Haany University was represented by Jang Jeong-hyeon, head of the AID30+ Intensive Camp project team.

The event opened with a plaque ceremony for the 13 universities selected as AI·D leading institutions in 2026, followed by guidance on program operation manuals and quality management standards, a session on government subsidy accounting and audit case studies, and presentations on standout examples from first-year intensive camps and bundled courses, with a question-and-answer segment.

Daegu Haany University was previously selected for both the "AID 30+ Intensive Camp" and "AID bundled courses" under the Ministry of Education and National Institute for Lifelong Education's AI·D program for working professionals in 2025. Its selection for the "AID bundled courses" program again in 2026 marks continued recognition of its capabilities in AI and digital education for working professionals.

The university plans to strengthen practical, field-oriented education linking AI and digital technology with regionally specialized industries — including traditional Korean medicine, food and cosmetics — to improve working professionals' ability to handle on-site challenges and support the digital transformation of local industries.

"Receiving the AI·D leading university plaque is official recognition of Daegu Haany University's capabilities in AI and digital education for working professionals," Jang said. "We will strengthen practical education that can be applied directly in regional industrial settings, and contribute to the digital transformation of industries in North Gyeongsang Province and the advancement of working professionals' skills."
