Daegu University held a meeting Wednesday with representatives of three major project management firms — Able, HT Solution and Carewell Solution — that serve as key partners at Samsung Electronics' Pyeongtaek campus, at the Pyeongtaek Employment and Welfare Center.

The Ministry of Employment and Labor arranged the meeting, asking the university to help boost job placement in the semiconductor sector as Samsung Electronics prepares for the sequential operation of its P4 line and the early launch of its P5 line at the Pyeongtaek campus.

Daegu University President Yoon Jae-woong, Student Affairs Vice President Song Ja-hyeon and other senior university officials attended alongside six representatives from the three partner firms, as well as alumni currently employed at the companies and human resources managers. Participants shared the university's semiconductor-focused employment strategy and its achievements to date.

Both sides exchanged views on the direction of digital education in AI and semiconductors — areas considered essential for students preparing to enter the workforce — as well as the latest domestic and international industry trends.

They also agreed to develop concrete cooperation models to strengthen employment capabilities for mutual benefit, including linking employment policy initiatives, pursuing joint research and co-running industry expert training programs.

"I am grateful for the active commitment to hiring shown by the key partners of Samsung Electronics' Pyeongtaek campus," Yoon said. "Daegu University will also do its utmost to strengthen the competitiveness of the national semiconductor industry and nurture outstanding talent for the future."
