The South Jeolla-Gwangju integrated special city announced Friday it will hold an Onuri gift voucher refund event ahead of the chuseok holiday to boost traditional markets and ease the burden of rising grocery prices on residents.

From Wednesday through Sunday, shoppers who purchase domestic agricultural, livestock or seafood products at 60 traditional markets will receive Onuri gift vouchers as refunds based on the amount spent.

Customers must bring their receipt and identification to a refund booth inside the market to claim their vouchers.

The refund tiers are 10,000 won for purchases of 34,000 won or more, and 20,000 won for purchases of 67,000 won or more.

The per-person refund cap is 20,000 won for agricultural and livestock products and 20,000 won for seafood. At markets running both refund programs, shoppers can receive up to 40,000 won per person.
