'We will build a Guri where children's futures are secure'

Guri Mayor Shin Dong-hwa visited two newly opened city-run daycare centers Thursday to hear directly from residents and assess the facilities' operating conditions and childcare environments as part of his field-centered approach to city administration.

The inspection covered two centers that recently opened within the Lotte Castle Signature apartment complex and a mixed-use residential complex near Guri Station — Municipal Lotte Castle Byeolbit Daycare Center and Municipal Lotte Castle Hanbbit Daycare Center — to verify their operating status and evaluate whether they provide a safe and reassuring environment for parents entrusting their children.

Shin toured the childcare rooms and other areas of both centers alongside staff from relevant city departments, carefully examining safety conditions and the overall childcare environment. He also encouraged the centers' directors and teaching staff, listened to their on-the-ground concerns and suggestions, and asked them to continue working toward a safe and comfortable childcare environment.

"Supporting our children — the hope of the future — so they can grow up healthy in a clean and safe environment is one of the city's most important responsibilities," Shin said. "We will keep expanding the quality of public childcare infrastructure so parents can entrust their children with confidence, and build a Guri where children's futures are secure."

Meanwhile, Guri said it plans to continue its field-centered approach to administration by listening directly to residents and paying close attention to childcare and welfare issues that affect daily life.
