Parata Air announced Friday it will run a special "In-flight Curator" edition on three flights serving the Incheon-Osaka and Incheon-Hanoi routes Sunday and Monday, ahead of the Chuseok holiday.

The special edition is designed to offer travelers heading abroad before Chuseok a distinctive in-cabin experience along with shopping benefits. In-flight curators will personally introduce Cheong Kwan Jang red ginseng extract on board and sell it at an exclusive "surprise price" available only on those flights.

The program will run on flight WE513 from Incheon to Osaka and return flight WE514 on Sunday, and on flight WE271 from Incheon to Hanoi on Monday.

The event marks the first time the in-flight curators — selected by Parata Air in July — will interact directly with customers on live flights.

Parata Air selected 18 cabin crew members as its inaugural class of in-flight curators and has been running a new in-cabin service program that goes beyond simply listing products for sale, instead recommending items suited to each customer's preferences and travel purpose. The curators take part directly in product evaluation and trend analysis to determine which products to present to passengers.

In addition, to mark Chuseok — the country's biggest traditional holiday — Parata Air will hold special in-flight events on all departing flights from Sept. 24 to Sept. 27. Passengers will receive cards carrying messages of appreciation from staff ahead of the airline's first anniversary of service, along with traditional Korean confections, as a gesture of holiday warmth.

"We put together this special edition so that customers traveling ahead of Chuseok can prepare gifts for their families and loved ones with extra-special benefits," a Parata Air official said. "We will continue to roll out a variety of programs through our in-flight curators so passengers can enjoy new experiences even while in the air."

Meanwhile, Parata Air continues to pursue corporate social responsibility initiatives across various areas, including providing air transport support for the Gangwon Province athletes' delegation competing in the National Sports Festival and the National Paralympic Sports Festival, both held in Jeju.
