Free checks offered at 20 BYD Auto service centers nationwide
Inspection covers 15 key vehicle components
BYD Korea said Friday that it will launch the "Full Moon, Full Check: BYD Korea Chuseok Safety Inspection Campaign" ahead of the Chuseok holiday to support customers' safe and comfortable long-distance travel.
The campaign will run for a total of six days — Sept. 21-23 and Sept. 28-30, covering the periods before and after the holiday — at 20 BYD Auto service centers across the country.
During the campaign, BYD Korea will provide free inspection services covering 15 key items on customers' vehicles. The checks will cover the traction battery, vehicle underbody, brakes and various consumables — components that require inspection before and after long-distance driving — and each inspection will take about 30 minutes.
The company will also offer an interior deodorizing service using fog machines for a more pleasant ride. In addition, to thank customers for their patronage ahead of Chuseok, BYD Korea will give away commemorative "travel kits" on a first-come, first-served basis.
The company said the campaign was designed to offer free inspections both before and after the Chuseok holiday so that customers can have their vehicles checked according to their own travel schedules.
"Chuseok is a time when the importance of vehicle maintenance and inspection grows, as many people travel long distances with family," a BYD Korea official said. "Through this 'Full Moon, Full Check' campaign, we plan to thoroughly inspect key vehicle conditions so that customers can travel to and from their hometowns with greater peace of mind."
BYD Auto's service center network, which started with 11 locations when the BYD passenger vehicle brand launched in January last year, has since expanded to 20. BYD Korea plans to grow the network to a total of 26 service centers by the end of this year to build a stable nationwide after-sales service infrastructure.
Meanwhile, BYD Korea has been actively expanding its marketing activities, including growing its network of showrooms, to widen customer touchpoints — most recently opening the BYD Auto Yongin showroom in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, a key hub city in the southern part of the province.
