Geumcheon-gu will hold the "2026 Chuseok Farm, Fishery and Specialty Product Direct Market" for two days, Monday and Tuesday, at the Geumcheon-gu Office plaza ahead of the chuseok holiday.

Through the market, the district aims to give local residents a chance to buy quality specialty products from across the country at reasonable prices ahead of chuseok. It will also help participating farms expand their sales channels and promote mutual growth among its partner cities.

Twenty-one farms recommended by nine municipalities nationwide will take part in the market and present a range of specialty products. They include Geumcheon-gu's sister cities — Namhae-gun in South Gyeongsang Province, Goheung-gun in South Jeolla Province, Hoengseong-gun in Gangwon Province and Cheongyang-gun in South Chungcheong Province. They also include rural-urban exchange partners of the district's neighborhood community centers — Chungju in North Chungcheong Province and Gongju and Seosan in South Chungcheong Province. Additional partners are Gokseong-gun in South Jeolla Province and Ongjin-gun in Incheon.

Participating farms plan to sell about 130 kinds of farm, fishery and specialty products. These include apples, chestnuts, traditional Korean confections, sweet potatoes, and salted seafood such as changnan-jeot (salted pollack intestines) and salted octopus. Also on offer are strawberry wine, sanghwang mushrooms, makgeolli, oranda (a puffed rice snack) and anchovies, all sold at discounts of up to 44 percent off market prices.

Details on the specific items for sale and their prices can be checked in advance via the QR code included in the event's promotional materials.

Geumcheon-gu District Mayor Choi Ki-chan said, "We have prepared an opportunity for local residents to purchase quality, affordable farm, fishery and specialty products," adding, "I hope each household can ease the burden of holiday preparations and enjoy a joyous chuseok with family and relatives."
