A North Korean defector in her 30s was found dead in an apartment in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, and police are pursuing a key suspect who has fled the country.
According to Yonhap, the woman, identified only as A, was found dead at around 10:35 a.m. Wednesday in an apartment in Wadong-dong, Paju.
A police officer responsible for managing North Korean defectors reported the case after being unable to reach A.

Police detected signs of a crime while examining the scene and launched an investigation. An autopsy also confirmed indications of homicide.
Police believe the crime took place in early August. They are tracking B, A's boyfriend, as the key suspect. Investigators determined that B left the country after the incident.
Police are searching for B's whereabouts and have requested cooperation from Interpol.
