Purchased farm and livestock goods delivered to local welfare facilities
Korea East-West Power Co. held a traditional market shopping event at Taehwa Market in Jung-gu, Ulsan, on Wednesday ahead of the chuseok holiday. The company donated the purchased goods to help vulnerable groups in the local community.
About 40 executives and employees bought local farm and livestock products and groceries at the traditional market that day. They delivered the goods to local welfare facilities, including a shelter for unmarried mothers and a day care center for the visually impaired.
Starting with Taehwa Market, Korea East-West Power plans to continue the shopping events at traditional markets across five districts and counties in Ulsan through the chuseok holiday.
"As we mark chuseok, the biggest holiday for our people, we will continue to buy food with our employees at local traditional markets to help revitalize the regional economy while also giving back to those in need," said Kwon Myung-ho, president of Korea East-West Power.
