The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education announced its "2027 Incheon Public and Private Special School (Kindergarten/Elementary), Kindergarten and Elementary School Teacher Recruitment Examination Implementation Plan."

According to the notice posted on the office's website Wednesday, the number of public school positions to be filled totals 349. They comprise three special school (kindergarten) teachers, 65 special school (elementary) teachers, 43 kindergarten teachers and 238 elementary school teachers. Of these, 29 positions are reserved for candidates with disabilities.

For privately run schools under public commission, five positions will be filled in total — one special school (kindergarten) teacher, three special school (elementary) teachers and one elementary school teacher.

Applications will be accepted online through the education office's staff recruitment system from Sept. 28 to Oct. 2.

The first-round exam will be held Nov. 7, followed by the second round from Jan. 6-8, 2027. Final results are set to be announced Jan. 27, 2027.

"The number of positions to be filled matches the previously announced figure of 349 for public schools," the office said. "It reflects the teacher quotas assigned under the Ministry of Education's mid- to long-term teacher supply and demand plan, taking into account class scale-ups and vacancy figures."
