Actor Kwon Oh-joong has received a citation from the prime minister.
Kwon confirmed the honor on his Instagram account Wednesday, sharing a photo of the citation bearing the name of Prime Minister Han Seong-sook.
The photo identified him as Kwon Oh-joong, publicity ambassador for the nonprofit organization Sarang Bat.
The citation read, "You are hereby honored for your great contribution to national and social development through the advancement of social welfare."
"I am grateful for everything," Kwon wrote.
Kwon was recognized for his contribution to spreading a culture of sharing through his public influence.
Kwon made his debut in 1994 with the KBS 2TV drama series "Sarangui Insa" ("Greetings of Love"). He then became a familiar face to the public through the SBS sitcom "Sunpoong Clinic" from 1998 to 2000. He went on to become a fixture on variety shows, including MBC's "Gonggam Talk Show Nolleowa" and KBS 2TV's "Naneun Namjada" ("I Am a Man"), showcasing his signature wit.
