Gyeongsan, North Gyeongsang Province, held the "2026 Gyeongsan Customized Elderly Care Service Workers' Convention" on Wednesday at the small auditorium of Daegu Catholic University. About 300 people attended, including workers who provide customized care services for older adults.

The event, hosted by four institutions that carry out Gyeongsan's customized elderly care services, aimed to encourage care workers who look after the safety and daily lives of older residents close at hand. It also sought to boost morale on the ground through communication and unity among workers.

The program began with an opening ceremony, followed by the presentation of citations to outstanding workers who have contributed to advancing elderly welfare and care services. It also included a screening of activity footage and a group photo. Workers also took part in a special lecture aimed at strengthening their professional skills and a congratulatory performance, giving them time to connect with one another and recharge.

Gyeongsan Mayor Cho Hyun-il said, "I deeply thank the customized elderly care service workers who quietly devote themselves to ensuring the safe daily lives of our elderly residents, working closest to them." He added, "I hope this gathering serves as a meaningful occasion for workers to encourage one another for their hard work and gain fresh energy."

Meanwhile, Gyeongsan's customized elderly care service currently operates through four institutions, with a total of 270 workers — 18 dedicated social workers and 252 lifestyle support workers. They provide a range of customized care services, including safety checks, daily living support, social participation and lifestyle education, to 4,048 older residents.
