The festival runs from 3 p.m. Sept. 19 at Noryangjin Soccer Field, featuring an outdoor screening of "Kung Fu Panda 4" along with a book plaza, night market and more.

On-site judging for the finals of the "Dongjak Bread-Baking Bbangbbang Contest" will also take place, with "Dongjak Bread" chosen through a mix of expert judging and public tasting and voting.

Dongjak-gu will hold the fourth Dongjak Naruteo Film Festival on Sept. 19 at Noryangjin Soccer Field (688 Nodeullo), bringing together movies, performances and hands-on experiences in one place.

The event will run from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. that day, and anyone may attend without advance registration.

Starting at 3 p.m., a preliminary lineup featuring a children's choir and a taekwondo demonstration team will kick things off, followed by a balloon art show, a bubble magic show and K-pop dance performances that will heat up the atmosphere on site.

The venue will also host 14 experience booths — including instant photo booths and caricature stands — along with a flea market and a youth night market. Moviegoers can enjoy performances, unique experiences and food together while soaking in the fall festival mood.

From 7 p.m., the film festival proper will kick off with an opening ceremony. The featured film is the animated "Kung Fu Panda 4," chosen for its broad appeal to families after topping a survey of district residents last year. Following the screening, a fireworks display will cap off the festival.

Running alongside the film festival will be the "Naruteo Book Plaza," part of the Dongjak Book Festival.

The venue will feature about 200 books, along with camping chairs, bean bags and teepee-style tents arranged into a book plaza, allowing moviegoers to relax and enjoy some quiet reading time.

11 organizations — including public and private libraries and local bookstores — will take part, offering a range of programs: a book-themed field day, bookmark-making and sea glass keyring crafting.

Particularly notable will be on-site judging for the finals of the "Dongjak Bread-Baking Bbangbbang Contest," where seven teams will present a total of nine entries. The winning "Dongjak Bread," representing the district, will be chosen by combining scores from professional judges (70 percent) and public tasting and voting (30 percent), with awards presented to the winning entries.

In preparation for large crowds, the district plans to take thorough safety measures throughout the event, including purchasing liability insurance, conducting advance safety training and carrying out joint pre-event inspections with related agencies.

Dongjak-gu also plans to host a series of cultural events this October reflecting the season and local character, expanding opportunities for residents to enjoy culture and leisure close to home. These include Dongjak Circus Day on Oct. 10, the Downtown Sea Festival on Oct. 24-25, and the Dongjak Bread Town Festival on Oct. 31.

Dongjak-gu District Mayor Ryu Sam-young said, "We prepared this festival so that visitors would not just watch a film and leave, but could enjoy performances, books, hands-on experiences and food all in one place." He added, "I hope families, friends and neighbors will visit Noryangjin Soccer Field together and create pleasant memories on a fall evening."
