North Gyeongsang Province's Cheongdo-gun announced Wednesday that it will fully launch the "2026 Second-Half Cheongdo Travel Bang-Bang Support Project."

The project is a Cheongdo-style half-price travel initiative aimed at drawing tourists from across the country and boosting local spending during the fall travel season.

Under the program, tourists who live outside Cheongdo-gun and visit designated tourist sites while spending money locally can get back 50 percent of their spending, up to 100,000 won ($75), in Cheongdo Love gift certificates. It is one of the county's signature incentive programs for individual travelers.

The project drew strong interest from tourists when it was first introduced in the first half of the year, with applications closing early after just three days.

For this second-half round, pre-applications will be accepted from Friday through Tuesday, covering trips taken from Sept. 18 to Sept. 22. However, the program may close earlier than scheduled if its budget is exhausted.

The support is open to individual tourists whose registered residence is outside Cheongdo-gun. Applicants must complete their pre-application through the integrated reservation system on the Cheongdo-gun website at least seven days before their planned travel date.

Tourists who receive approval notice after applying can request the support funds once they visit Cheongdo during the travel period and meet the designated requirements.
