Donation given to Korean Red Cross

Funds to support local relief, recovery efforts

Hyundai Motor Group said Wednesday that it will provide $500,000 in relief funds to Nepal and Tibet, regions recently hit hard by flooding.

The donation will be delivered through the Korean Red Cross and used to support local relief operations and recovery efforts.

"We would like to send a message of comfort to everyone struggling in the aftermath of the sudden floods in Nepal and Tibet, and we hope this contribution helps speed up recovery, even in a small way," a Hyundai Motor Group official said.

As a member of the international community, Hyundai Motor Group has provided donations and relief supplies for major overseas disasters in recent years, including the earthquake in Venezuela this July, the California wildfires in 2025, and the Morocco earthquake, Libya floods and Turkey earthquake in 2023.

Meanwhile, ahead of chuseok, Hyundai Motor Group plans to pay its suppliers 2.26 trillion won ($1.68 billion) in outstanding payments up to 23 days earlier than the original due date. The move eases suppliers' cash flow burden ahead of the holiday, when spending is concentrated on employee bonuses, wages and raw material costs. It also helps stabilize their operations and contributes to regional economic vitality.

In addition, the group recently provided two police buses belonging to the 1st Mobile Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Mobile Reserve Headquarters with "nano cooling film." The advanced material lowers vehicle interior temperatures simply by being applied to the windows. The donation is part of the group's ongoing corporate social responsibility efforts across various fields.
