'Sanggam, Mokhyang Dajeong' among three works to win encouragement award

Winning pieces to be exhibited in Cheongju Nov. 6-8

Thirteen craft works discovered by Ulsan won prizes at the 56th Korea Crafts Grand Exhibition, hosted by the Cultural Heritage Administration and organized by the Korea Federation of Crafts Cooperatives.

At this year's exhibition, held in August at the Korea National University of Cultural Heritage in Buyeo, South Chungcheong Province, three Ulsan works won encouragement awards: "Sanggam, Mokhyang Dajeong" by wood-and-lacquer artist Kim Jong-pil, "Breath of Ulsan" by metal artist Kim Ji-sun, and "Jiseung Gujeolpan, Ham" by paper artist Kim Kang-hee.

Four more works received special selection awards and six received merit awards, bringing Ulsan's total to 13 prizewinners out of the 25 outstanding crafts the city had selected through this year's 27th Ulsan Metropolitan City Crafts Exhibition.

The winning works will be exhibited Nov. 6-8 at the gallery of Culture Manufacturing Plant, on Sangdangno in Cheongwon-gu, Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province.
