Yeungnam College of Science & Technology held the "2026 HD Construction Equipment K-New Deal Academy Hi-CEED Program" graduation ceremony on Tuesday. The event took place at HD Construction Equipment's Global Education Center on its North Chungcheong Province Eumseong campus.
The ceremony was held to share the educational achievements of the Hi-CEED program, which ran from July 6 to Tuesday. It also served to present awards to outstanding trainees and encourage participants as they begin new chapters.
The Hi-CEED program is a corporate-linked job training initiative jointly run by HD Construction Equipment and Yeungnam College of Science & Technology. It aims to cultivate youth workforce talent capable of responding to digital transformation, eco-friendly electrification and the spread of smart manufacturing in the construction equipment and manufacturing industries.
Drawing on the educational infrastructure of its Mechanical Engineering building, Yeungnam College ran an intensive 56-day, 430-hour curriculum combining theory, hands-on practice and project work.
Twenty-one students and graduates from Yeungnam College's Smart Convergence Machinery, Electrical Automation, and ICT Semiconductor Electronics departments took part in the program. They gained experience applying their expertise in mechanical, electrical, electronic and automation fields to real-world manufacturing settings.
Trainees simulated robot movement and control methods in a virtual environment, experiencing how digital technology is applied in the design and verification of actual machinery and mobility industries.
All 21 participating trainees from Yeungnam College passed three certification courses.
"I hope the trainees will use the experience gained in this program to demonstrate their expertise in the evolving manufacturing industry," said Kim Byung-soo, managing director at HD Construction Equipment.
"We will do our best to cultivate tailored talent so that students can immediately apply their skills in industrial settings and contribute to the growth of local businesses and the national industry," said Lee Jae-yong, president of Yeungnam College of Science & Technology.
