CEO Shin Ik-hyun says visit will 'open new chapter' in bilateral defense ties

LIG Defense & Aerospace (LIG D&A) said Tuesday that Czech Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Jaromir Juna visited the company's Pangyo House on Monday.

The visit was aimed at reviewing LIG D&A's advanced air defense systems firsthand and discussing concrete avenues for defense cooperation. CEO Shin Ik-hyun held talks with Deputy Prime Minister Juna on strengthening their strategic partnership and future collaboration.

LIG D&A introduced a range of specialized air defense solutions, including the L-SAM long-range surface-to-air guided missile system and anti-drone systems that have emerged as a key capability in modern warfare. The company highlighted its system integration capabilities and technical reliability in building a multilayered, integrated air defense solution capable of providing seamless coverage from low to high altitudes.

LIG D&A said it plans to further strengthen its export competitiveness in the European market on the back of the visit. "It is a great honor to welcome Deputy Prime Minister Jaromir Juna, the head of Czech defense, to Pangyo House," Shin said. "We hope that LIG D&A's world-class air defense technology will contribute to strengthening the Czech Republic's defense capabilities, and we will continue to work closely together to open a new chapter in defense cooperation between the two countries."

Meanwhile, LIG D&A is participating in MSPO 2026, a defense exhibition being held in Poland, as part of its broader push into the European market. The company is showcasing integrated air defense solutions and aerial armaments tailored to the local market at the event.
