Daegu city announced Tuesday it is accepting applications for its youth real estate brokerage fee support program.

The program is open to householders between the ages of 19 and 39 who do not own a home and registered their address in Daegu on or after Jan. 1, 2026 — whether moving within the city or relocating from another region.

Applicants must have a household income at or below 150 percent of the median income standard and live in a rental unit — either a jeonse or monthly rent arrangement — with a lease value of 150 million won ($111,000) or less.

Young people living in non-standard housing such as goshiwon or guesthouses, where formal lease contracts are difficult to draw up, may also apply by submitting supporting documents including a room-occupancy confirmation, a rental business registration certificate and a brokerage fee receipt.

Eligible applicants can receive up to 300,000 won toward the brokerage fee they paid, with the benefit available once per lifetime.

However, those who have already received support through a similar program run by a central government ministry or another local government, those renting a home owned by their parents, recipients of housing benefits, and those who own a home — including pre-sale or move-in rights — are excluded.

Applications are open through November via the Daegu Youth Community Portal "Jeolmpeu" and the Daegu Youth Center website. Further details on how to apply and required documents are available on those sites or by contacting the Daegu Youth Center directly.

"The brokerage fees young people face when moving to start a new chapter in their lives are no small burden," said Jeong Eun-ju, head of Daegu's Youth, Women and Education Bureau. "We encourage all eligible youth to apply so they don't miss out on this benefit."
