The Industry and Construction Committee of the Ulsan Metropolitan City Council visited Ulsan Technopark and the Ulsan Information Industry Promotion Agency on Friday to hear about on-site challenges and exchange views on fostering Ulsan's future industries.

At Ulsan Technopark in Daun-dong, Jung-gu, committee members received a briefing on operations and inspected the Makerspace — a core facility for building a manufacturing startup ecosystem — as well as the pilot production building of the Advanced Chemical Technology Support Center, which supports process development and mass production of precision chemical materials, examining how prototype manufacturing equipment is being used.

The committee then moved to the Ulsan Information Industry Promotion Agency on Techno Saneopno in Nam-gu, where it reviewed operations at the "Ulsan Manufacturing AX Lab," a dedicated space for AI companies and a key resource support hub.

The Ulsan Manufacturing AX Lab is a dedicated manufacturing AI hub integrating GPU-based computing and network equipment rooms with AI solution development spaces, supporting companies in manufacturing AI technology research and on-site demonstration.

"Ulsan Technopark and the Ulsan Information Industry Promotion Agency are forward bases leading AI and digital transformation — Ulsan's new engines of future growth — as well as advanced materials technology development," committee members said. "We will provide council-level support to ensure that the voices we heard on the ground are reflected in Ulsan's industrial development."
