Former baseball player turned broadcaster Hwang Jae-gyun gave viewers a tour of his Han River-view home, revealing that his monthly electricity bill had once hit 1.5 million won ($1,100).

A video titled "I Finally Did the Home Tour Everyone Else Is Doing" was posted Friday to his YouTube channel "Illu Hwang." In it, Hwang walked viewers through the apartment where he lives alone.

The home features a wardrobe room, a guest room, a walk-in closet, a bedroom, a living room and a kitchen. The sweeping, unobstructed view of the Han River was by far the most striking element.

Personal touches were visible throughout. Figurines, Lego sets, baseball championship trophies, sneakers and comic books were scattered across the space. A limited-edition motorcycle once owned by Justin Bieber was on display in the living room, hinting at Hwang's eclectic collector's taste.

One wall was lined with a refrigerator stocked entirely with whiskey. Hwang, who said he enjoys collecting liquor, showed off several high-end bottles.

The bedroom contained a safe. "There are contracts and money inside," he said, joking that he would report the show's producer to the police if it went missing.

Another unexpected item sat in the bedroom: an ice bath refrigerator. Hwang said he bought it to soak in after workouts to reduce inflammation and pain. "I really bought it planning to use it every day — and I did use it every day — but the electricity bill came out to 1.5 million won," he said. "It was because I was running the refrigerator around the clock."

"A monthly electricity bill of 1.5 million won — that's a lot, right? So I unplugged it," Hwang said. "After that, the bill went down, and the ice bath fridge became a decoration."

Hwang wrapped up his baseball career last year and signed an exclusive contract with SM Culture & Contents in February, launching a second chapter as a broadcaster.
